Savlon, a prominent hygiene brand under ITC, initiated the Savlon Swasth India Mission in 2016 to promote handwashing habits among children through interactive educational activities in schools. Since its inception, the program has reached over 8.5 million children in 25,000 schools, effectively instilling the importance of hand hygiene among primary school students.
Collaborating with Triveni Media, the brand successfully executed the campaign in Haryana and Gujarat, enhancing its impact in the targeted communities.

Overview

In 2016, ITC’s Savlon Swasth India Mission launched to promote handwashing habits among children. Partnering with Triveni Media, the campaign targeted schools in Haryana and Gujarat, emphasizing hand hygiene through engaging activities like storytelling, AV content, and hands-on demonstrations.

Campaign Execution

The campaign included:

  • Handwash Demonstration: Students learned to convert Savlon powder into liquid handwash.
  • 8-Step Handwashing Jingle: Interactive AV sessions encouraged participation.
  • Jumbled Steps Game & Pledge: Reinforced hygiene learning with quizzes and pledges.
  • Giveaways: Students received certificates, health kits, and letters for their mothers to spread hygiene awareness at home.

Results

From July 2023 to February 2024, the campaign reached 216,929 students across 1,100 schools, instilling long-term hand hygiene practices and distributing health kits, fostering a healthier future.
